Hi - I am paranoid I think, I have a great guy in my life, we have been together 1.5 years today actually!

We don't see each other often, but when we are not together, we pretty much are in touch every hour or every other hour...so my confusion is not making sense to me.

When I first started dating him, I got an infection, yeast or fungal, I'm not sure...but I smelled like fish and then even if I didn't see him for a couple of days...he smelled like fish.

Somehow (this was about 1 year ago), I was taking antibiotics for it, never mentioned it to him and maybe he used jock itch stuff because he and I became totally scent free and have been ever since.

Recently, I haven't seen him or had sex with him for over a week and I was with him this past Sunday.

The foods that he eats could be causing the change in scent along with other possibilities. Like, how long since he had showered, were his clothes clean, what had he been doing since his last shower, etc.

Do you have other reasons to suspect he might be cheating on you?

I don't know what it could be besides him possibly having an infection or like misty stated, a few other things.

I think it could be a number of things.
First, maybe he did get a new infection, which doesn't necessarily mean he's cheating. I surprised my GYN a few years ago by getting an infection which she said was usually sexually transmitted (the surprise was due to the fact that I was not sexually active and I was certainly not using anyone else's underwear or towels, either). So how did I get it? Total mystery.
Second, if he did have an infection back when he was "smelling fishy", maybe it wasn't really cured. Some of these things have a tendency of coming back if the treatment isn't very thorough. Plus, if you don't know exactly what *your* infection was, maybe you didn't take something that was very helpful with that particular type of infection, so maybe you're not entirely cured and are passing it on to him.
Third, you say you hadn't had sex in a week. I don't know what your usual frequency is but I understand that the longer a man does not ejaculate, the stronger the smell of the semen becomes.
Good luck with it!

Thank you,

I think it can only be described as paranoia.

Don't jump to conclusions and overcomplicate things based solely on a "very slight" fish smell, it was so slight that after thinking about it,
