I'm 18 and I guess I'm bi-curous although I tell others that I'm bi-sexual.

Hi kelli. Well, my first question would be what do you want? It doesn't really matter what anyone else does or says you should do in regards to this. Have you ever had a brazilian wax? Check around your area for

I guess I'd like to shave my pubic hair.

Welcome to the board, Kelli.

I agree with nhgal that you should do what you prefer in the long run. If you want to try a Brazilian, that's great, and you may like it .... but it shouldn't be something you "have" to do for someone else.

My DH isn't into having me bare at all. I personally would like to give it a try, but I also know that I would hate having to keep up with it on a regular basis. I also don't welcome the itching and such. Sooooooo, I prefer to trim when I feel a need. There's no itching, and I can keep up with it as I find necessary without any major changes along the way. It's easy to have it very well groomed if I want, or to let it just be more natural, but shorter than it would be on it's own. The stages between the two are not drastic, so I never feel unkempt.

You sound a little hesitant. Why not just try trimming it short, and see how you like that? If you like that, then after a while shave. I've never had a problem with the itching.

I personally think it's crucial to do what you want.

Try a waxing. It will last for weeks, and the re-growth won't be nearly as stubby and itchy as shaving. In the long run, you may want to consider laser, but try waxing first and see how it works out.

I have never had a wax but why not shave the sides in a little more and trim down the rest?

I think it all depends on the person, as far as the brazilian and pain goes. I didn't find it painful at all. Yes, a little uncomfortable, but I would much rather that than going to the dentist!

I'm like you I'm part italian and I have a bush between my legs and have a little trail of hair up to my belly button but my dh likes the hair so I don't really worry about it, except trim the sides during the summer months. I have tried shaving it before but it got really itchy and I got a lot of ingrown hairs. It just didn't look good. If your bf likes it you could just let it be. Its a lot less hassle. From what I see in the gym locker room I know I'm in the minority but its just less of a hassle and some men actually like the hair.
