Lube Q?

So my water-based lube leaked the other day and by the time I found it, it had left a sticky glue like trail. This of course got me thinking, what happens to the lube when I use it? Does any of it actually stay inside me and what kind of chemicals am I introducing into my system? Just curious... I googled risks/ side effects and didn't really find anything. What do you think?

If it's "water based" it mixes with and is diluted by your fluids and his, and they're flushed out by your vagina's self-cleaning action, just like his semen is.
Welcome to the board, plantereen.
Tish and Sakura have already given the best answers I could think of, but I wanted to add that if the glue trail that you mention is on fabric, it should wash off fairly easily. Our water based lube has leaked in the nightstand drawer, and it does leave a stain, similar to an oil stain. I suspect it would clean up, but I'm not willing to get the wood wet enough to test that. It's gotten on the carpet and bedding before though, and it washes out easily.
