I know I am new to the boards but even I know the iVillage rules and since it was a late night post and misty mae is probably busy I am going to post these for her.

Thanks, Lyn.

Unfortunately, even when some people do know the TOS rules, they choose to violate them. In the case of a Troll posting on the messageboard, it is best to ignore their post. Responding only feeds them, and helps to accomplish their intentions.

I can assure you the message which prompted your post here has been reported. Unfortunately, we have to wait until the post is reviewed before it can be removed. The folks who do that no doubt have a huge stack to go through ... but in the case of this particular post, I can assure you that it will be removed -- and it has been RAV'd.

A RAV is "Report a Violation". At the bottom of each post you will find a hyper link where you can RAV any post that you feel violates TOS. It will automatically go to the appropriate people to be handled.

There is also an "ignore" feature you can use for any member. To activate that, use the hyperlink beneath their board name, on the left column of any post they have made. When doing that, you won't even see posts from him/her at all.

I find that actually putting them on ignore works best for me for any poster who is pushing my buttons. I can't simply just tell myself that I won't read their posts, because I will. I have to actually click on that "ignore posts" button or else I will continue to read the posts and getting my ire up and then the next thing I know I'm getting ready to violate TOS. Just recently I was getting ready to call a poster a bitch and I reminded myself to just erase what I'd typed and put her on ignore instead. I'm used to chatting in Yahoo where you can tell anyone off and tell them where to shove it. So I have to curb my inner bitch and keep it cool here.

You are so right Misty! I was on a board one time and there was a guy who was posting who was as about an inappropriate as someone could be! The sad thing is, I've heard rumors that he still lurks around iVillage and is still posting away.

Thanks for the reminder! I should've just hit the violation button but it was late and I wasn't thinking straight! I was actually thinking about how I wished my h that was at the races was home instead...:)
