I am SSOOO lucky!

And not in a sexual way. Yet! ;)

My oldest dd had a vb game tonight and I knew it would probably be late when I got home, then I'd have to cook supper, etc...

I called h and asked if he was going to fix supper and he gave a sarcastic 'yes' and I thought to myself 'Oh Great! One of THOSE nights again!'

When I finally got home around 6:30 I found an awesome saute he made with peppers, onions, tomatoes and minute steak, hash browns and wild rice cooking on the stove. He even set the table!

My sister called before I got home and he told her what he was making (her h would NEVER do anything like that for her!) and she told him how lucky I was. He told her that he was hoping he'd get lucky for what he did. NO BRAINER THERE!

I can help but think of the rest of the mom's who either had to cook supper when they got home or waste money going out to eat. He may have been a real horses a** last night but he sure made up for it tonight!

To repay the favor, I'm going to go get a little housework done so the house looks a little nicer for him. (And because if I don't do it now, I might not get the chance later!)

Anyone else lucky enough to get their sweeties to something as awesome for them? (btw he did the same thing for me when we were first married because I was extremely late getting off work because of some late deliveries and when I finally walked in the door he was pulling the tater tot casserole out of the oven.) *sigh*

We try to remember to do little things like that for each other on a regular basis. We don't always succeed, but it does do us well to remember that the little things tell us we love each other more than anything else we do (even the romps in the bedroom).

You are so right! I don't need a romp in the bedroom to make me happy. What he did took me way beyond that!

Tonight, DH helped cook dinner and did all of the after meal cleaning. I had a couple of errands to run .... I certainly know how I would like to thank him later ;-)

DH is a good cook and when he is home and has time he likes to take over the kitchen. I wish he was around more...LOL

What he does do is something very nice. If he is up in the morning before I am he will bring me a cup of coffee in bed. I like to wake up and watch the morning news and that cup of coffee in bed is just lovely. Especially when I don't have to get up anytime soon!

I do the coffee in bed thing for DW every morning as well, in addition to my weekend cooking duties.

You are truly the lucky one!

I'm glad that you've been lucky to have a man to help you out. This supper fixing was a very rare occurance. I don't see it happening again for quite some time.
