New - Trying WW's, Willing to Do Right

Hi Everyone,

I have finally joined WW's on Sat. 8/26 by the doctor's orders. I decided I'd better stick to it because I didn't want him to increase my dosage on my high blood pressure medication, so I am determined to lose weight so that I can get off of them. My doctor gave me a coupon to register for free and to get the starter kit free as well, I did have to pay the first week's ($12.00) fee, which wasn't bad. Anyway, I used to be on WW's in 1988-89 and was very successful. I've been up and down on my weight. I've had surgery last year in November, I lost 10lbs. while healing then 6 to 10 weeks afterwards, I be darned if the weight came back on, so disappointed.

Well, it was my fault, how do I think that I can consume beer every night (I mean every night) without gaining weight. That is (was)my weakness. I'm proud to say though, that I did not have one ounce of beer last night (Sunday). So if I can keep this up, I'll be okay.

My first day on WW's (Saturday) I was doing good, until I went to the grocery store to get my items that I needed for this health eating plan. Why did I stop at the chicken counter and order 3 fried chicken wings? It put me 5 points over that day, but I've done really well on Sunday. Today, it's about 4:10p.m. and I am on point.

Please keep me motivated, I have to lose 19 to 20lbs, in 12 weeks. Thereafter, I am shooting to lose another 25. I've tried to do WW's on my own without paying the beginning of this year, but I failed. I'm paying now, so I know that I am going to do this.

Thanks for reading.

Well I would say that the first three weeks is by far the hardest out of them all.

Welcome Ms. Blue!

Why do you have to lose that much weight in 12 weeks?

It really does take a week or so to get on a roll, after that the old habbits start to die off (like the chicken wings, for example).

I think you have the greatest motivator of all...your health!

Thanks Everyone for your inspiring words, I will stick to it for my health as well as wanting to get into some very nice clothes without looking older than I am.

I will stay on this board almost everyday. I have to get my computer fixed at home or purchase a new one.

Take care, and Happy Tuesday.

Welcome MsBlue! You will be successful! As for the beer, I love a glass of wine so I allow this on Saturday night (2 glasses) with dinner. Stay away from the fried foods for the most part! But you know this already. this is a great plan and you can eat enough so you will not be hungry.

Best wishes,
Linda

Thanks for the encouragement. I am staying away from the fried foods. I think by eating those 3 fried wings on Saturday, which put me over in my points, made me not want anymore. Plus, I think I ate it just that one more time to get that last taste and then get it out of my system. LOL!

Anyway, I'll be checking back. Oh, by the way I felt so light yesterday, my stomach seemed to have felt lighter, but today it's bloated. Saturdays are my weigh-in days and since I will be traveling out of town next Saturday, I went to a meeting yesterday. I lost 1.4 pounds since last Saturday. That motivated me some.

But I wonder why I'm bloated now. I did have one slice of 100% whole wheat bread this morning. I want to feel the way I felt yesterday.

Anyway, thanks for reading, maybe you can give me some insight on the bloating.

Thanks,

Deborah (MsBlue)

Hi Deborah

Bloating could be from any number of things. Keep a check on whole wheat items to see if this continues - some people are allergic to gluten in ww and that could be the culprit. Otherwise, it is just normal bloat!
