New mom, old WW
11

I had my first baby via C-section on 11/13 (4 weeks ago!). I was on WW when I got pregnant and got down to 212 during the first trimester...now I'm around 245. I'm just looking for a good message board to get some support. My mom and I are going to go to WW meetings, but not until January and I feel like I need to get started on resuming my healthy habits.

Current challenges:
1) Exercise. Not sure what I can do being a C-section mommy, but I feel pretty good, so I think I can do Walk Away the Pounds again (maybe skipping the "stretchie" parts until I see my doctor in 2 weeks and get "cleared")

2) Hunger. I'm NOT breastfeeding, so I have no need for extra calories. I think I got used to eating whenever I wanted during pregnancy and I need to retrain myself to eat less.

Goals:
1) I want to get back into my pants! (Size 22 not fitting me any time soon...so I'm stuck in maternity clothes for the time being.)

2) Get back to 212 or so over the next 12 months.

Hope this is a good place for me! I've used the WeightWatcher.com boards before, but I've gotten really used to the ivillage format by joining the expecting club.

Welcome Christine!

Since you just had a c-section only 4 weeks ago, I don't think even WATP would be recommended.

Welcome. I am also a new mommy, my second baby is 5 months old and I have put this weight loss thing off as long as I can. I gained almot 70 pounds during my pregnancy and only lost 30 so far due to lack of effort. You will be glad you got an early start on the weight loss because I keep telling myself I could already be back to my pre-pregnancy weight if I had started earlier. This is my first week back on track but I lost 60 pounds with WW after my first pregnancy. Congratulations and I look forward to reading more of your post.

Girl, Violet, 8 lbs. 14 oz. =)

I love taking care of my girl, but I'm glad I'll have more help (sitter when I go back to work) soon. Babies are more demanding than you'd ever think, but worth it.

I will take your advice and take it easy until my doctor says it's OK. Too tired/busy most days anyway. =)

It would be nice to lie and tell you that they get less demanding, but that would be well, a lie!

Thanks! Violet is my DH's grandmother's name. Her middle name is Rebecca, my mother's name.

Welcome to the board and congrats on the new baby! I know what you mean about wanting to jump right back on the WW's wagon but don't stress yourself about it (or atleast I wouldn't) until after
