signs....

hey im jen.. ummm me and my boyfriend broke up about 4 months ago. we dated for a year and a half but had to break it off because the whole long distance thing wasnt working for us... anyway.. since then i have moved on and i am currently dating another guy, who by the way is the best thing that has happened to me in a long time.. he is soo awesome.. BUT over these past 4 months since the break up, i have been seeing all sorts of signs that might mean im suppose to be with my ex.. for example.. i watch the maury show in the mornings when my bored and a guy with the same name of my ex came on.. also on my way to school i pass a construction area and the company doing the construction has his last name.. also.. i always hear our songs playing on the radio and lately i keep running into his mom at the grocery.. i dont know if im being stupid here, but are these signs that we should be together? do you believe in signs??

I believe in signs. I don't know for sure if the "signs" you are getting mean that you and your ex are meant to be together. The "signs" could be drawing your attention to him for some other reason. But it still doesn't hurt to take a closer look at them. Some things I would consider, though:
--if your BF's name is a common one, like John, I don't think it would be weird for a guy on Maury Povitch to have the same name. If it's something less common, like Sergio-- well, that's bizarre. ;-)
--same goes for the construction company sign-- if his last name is Smith, big deal. If it Filenzoshula, and the sign you passed said the same thing, that's WEIRD.
--the songs on the radio: if they were nonexistant from the playlist for a long time, maybe even months before you broke up, and now they are coming back on, that's strange too. But I do have to point out-- I've noticed that songs that have lost popularity seem to have their moments again from time to time, like after they pass something around the year mark after their popularity, kwim?
This is interesting, though. It reminds me of the movie Fools Rush In, when Matthew Perry's character is on the street and sees the priest that tells him "there are signs everywhere". I'd go with your gut, but be a little sensible about it. And if things are really going great with your new guy, try not to jeapordize that.
Best wishes,
~Victoria
Personally, I do believe in signs that really hit home.
