Need gift ideas for my boyfriend

My boyfriend and I will be celebrating our 1 year anniversay this weekend and I need help with some gift ideas. He's a wonderful man and treats me great; and doesn't like me spending money on him because he knows that I don't make a lot of money. For Christmas I gave him a 49'rs reversible jacket and calendar pen set; for Valentine's day I gave him a nice casual watch; and for his birthday I have him two shirts. I would like to get him something nice and special but at the same time not hurt his feelings by spending a lot of money on him. We go out a lot and up to this day, he still does not let me spend a dime. Because he won't let me treat him to lunch or anything, I cook him special dinners regularly to show him my appreciation of all that he does for me. Thanks for your suggestions in advance.

I'd buy something related to his hobbies. What does he do in his spare time?

Anna,
Yup, give him something that relates to his interests. Sounds like he's a 49ers fan. Well that was a good job paying attention to that and giving him that jacket (sounds expensive though). If he likes a certain band, see if they come into town in the next few months and get him tickets if it's not too much. Or just get him their CDs. If he's into his car, buy him a gift certificate for a CD or MP3 player for his car. Maybe some new speakers. Does he baby his car? Get him a certificate for 52 car washes (a car wash for a year). Maybe he likes skateboarding, so get him something with Tony Hawk on it. You get the picture.

Here's a general pointer: Guys (for the most part) don't care as much about the gifts you get them, as girls care about the gifts you give them. Yes we appreciate your thoughfulness of picking something nice out, but we're probably not going to feel hurt if you get us "the wrong thing". Unless its tacky or tasteless, we like almost everything you give us. Honestly, guys just want you with them on their bdays giving hugs and kisses. Don't stress about it. He's been with you for a year, that means he really likes you already. It's all good. Good luck!
