a light-hearted Q!

Hi this is just a quick question, nothing dramatic or serious. What would you think if the guy you're dating says (talking about your dad) "you'll have to get him a good son-in-law." I've been dating this guy for 5 months, then the other day we were talking about how my dad was the only male in my family of my mom, myself, and my sister. And that's what he said! It kinda caught me by surprise; all I could say was, "yeah..." I'm not stressing over it or putting any weight on it, but what would you guys think about him saying this? To me it seems like for any guy to even bring up the word "son-in-law" means he must be thinking about it, especially if he is currently in a position where that could be him somewhere down the line.

Some of this probably makes no sense, but I'd be interested to hear others' opinions on it! Thanks!

I think that if I were you I'd be constantly thinking about his "son-in-law" comment. It's one of those things that I would not be able to put out of my head...my rationing is this~ if he mentioned the actual words "son-in-law" where he knows the only way to get a position like that would be if someone married into your family of women...I would think he was thinking about what it would be like to be included in your family...right? That's what I think!!

haha that's how i thought about it too!! being that he is the only person in my life at present where that title might apply to somewhere down the line... i mean he is in the position to become a son-in-law if things work out...anyway, thanks for the input!!
