hi everyone! im 18 and i've been checking out ivillage for a few months now. i love the information and community here. thanks in advance to anyone who can help. anyways, i just started dating a 20yearold. im a virgin and ive never had a serious boyfriend. he used to be really wild (did drugs ect.) and has had 12 sexual partners and 3 serious relationships. we've only known each other for a month, but i feel like im falling in love with him!! of course, i know it is way too soon to feel that so ive kept it to myself, but my problem is that he tells me he loves me and how much he likes me all the time. he talks about how he wants a long relationship and that he wants to be with me for a long time, but isnt all of this too early for us to be thinking about?
im going off to college in one month, and im just afraid that this is too intense and that the infatuation is going to wear off...also, im the only girl who has ever made him wait for sex...does that have something to do with it?? i dont want to get my heart broken!!! (or his!!!!)

First...Pianoguy ADMIRES you from obstaining from having sex with this man. Considering his "track record"---it's entirely possible that if you did, you'd become 'another notch on his gunbelt!'
It's only one man's opinion, but if a man (or a woman) wants S-E-X badly enough...it's pretty easy to toss the "L" word around until that desire is met! After a few close encounters, there's a good possibility that the person who uttered: I LOVE YOU...will have moved on to somebody else?
Unless you're in a rush to lose one of the most precious gifts a woman possesses, I would keep this particular...err...'gentleman' ON HOLD INDEFINITELY!
Give yourself permission to breathe, enjoy life and meet others. For most of us, once we 'settle down with a partner'---IT'S FOR LIFE! Do you REALLY think you're ready?
Best wishes and warm thoughts...
