i am friends with a couple who is on the verge of breaking up, they have a completely loveless relationship and were best friends that took the relationship road. "Kris" want to break up with "Chrissy" however they live togther, which makes it logistically more difficult to jsut end it. They are completely miserable and have broken up once or twice in the past year.
I always had a crush on Kris but never paid any mind to it b/c he was with Chrissy for the past 2 years. Recenetly we had a long chat and it turns out that Kris and I both have feelings for each other. We both would like to date each other, as he is completley emotionally detached from Chrissy, However I told him, and he agreed he needs to end this the right way and break up with Chrissy and take care of his issues before we date.
Problem is this. Chrissy wants to hang out still and has no idea, that kris and i Have feelings for each other. I feel really bad b/c even though Chrissy and i are becoming better friends, she's still a new friend to me. I enjoy hanging out with her, but am afraid that she will hate me if and when she finds out about me and Kris. She still wants to hang out and I don't know what to do. I feel like I shouldn't hang out with them alone and only in group settings until this whole thing moves on or blows over.
HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP! I don't want to keep blowing her off or hurt her feelings, but I really would like to try and date Kris.

Well of course she will, you would too if the situations were reversed. It is going to come down to a choice. Either you choose a friendship with "Chrissy", or a relationship with "Kris". Can't have both. It'd be nice if it worked out that way, but it'd be nice if you won the lottery and your shots are about equal.
You need to have the integrity to back off your friendship with "Chrissy", since the relationship with "Kris" is obviously your choice. She'll know why once you and "Kris" start dating.
