I wrote best friend a love letter!

He and I have been friends for almost a year now. We both have had crushes on eachother since we first met. We have remained friends not pursuing a relationship because I just got out of a really bad long term-relationship. He constantly compliments me and tells me I am pretty. We have slept in the same bed a couple of times (platonically)after partying late with friends or just staying up late talking. I definately feel that there is a major emotional connect between he and I. He is my best friend, he would do anything for me and he is uplifting in times of despair. He has said before that falling in love is great but having a broken heart is just too much to bear. He has been hurt before and naturally not a big risk taker. We have a very open and honest friendship and we can talk to eachother about anything. We enjoy spending time together doing almost anything (taking walks in the park, going to the drive-in, hanging out at friend's house, cooking.) We have both told eachother that we love one another (as a friend) but lately I have been having more that just "friendly" feelings towards him. I am extremely shy when it comes to love and relationships. I have been wanting to tell him for the last 2 months how I feel. I decided to write it down on paper and give it to him. Here it is below:

Your blue eyes, your perfect lips, I miss them so much
You bring the best out in me, with you I am always happy
I've never met anyone like you, I see so much potential in you
You deserve the utmost respect

I love you from the depths of my soul, I get butterflies every time we touch
Just a kiss would mean so much, patience is the key to unlocking this mystery
I tell myself that everyday

It's the purest love I have ever felt, I feel that in time something great will come of this friendship, until then, I will keep this hidden in my heart.

I gave this to him last saturday after we came back to his place from a party. He read it after I left. He didn't call me until Wednesday and we had a normal conversation about where he had misplaced his phone charger. In the middle of the conversation he stated "The letter you wrote was sweet, but we will have to talk more about that later". Since that day he has not called. I figure he needs some time to think about things and I don't want to call him. I have already made myself vulnerable and calling would just be a desperate thing to do right? My questions are: Do you think I have ruined our friendship? What does " we will have to talk more about that later mean" and then he just stops calling me...

Maybe he is just busy, when guys say we have to talk more they usually want to talk more. They usually say it because they want to get the full meaning of what you have written to make sure he is not reading more or less into it then what you’re meant. So just chill and once time permits he will call.
