Holidays and the MW/OW

I have been reading a lot about those who are NOT looking forward to the Holidays.

I wonder if those issues are different among MW and OW?

I know that I am looking forward to the holidays, so much to do, with family and the kids. I know I will miss MM, and I know he will be doing things with his family and W's family, and that does hurt(I long for the Christmas when it's MM and I and our kids around the Christmas tree on Christmas morning). I'll be travling out of town for a 4 day weekend. To spend time with H's sister and kids. But for the most part I'm looking forward to the holiday season!

I love this time of year,

dayz

yes, the holidays are hard. but i think that it will be harder for my MM to deal w/ me spending the holidays w/ my H than vice versus. I have a young son. He has grown children w/ their own things to do. i love christmas but having a toddler helps get through the tough times.

I think that it will be harder on OM to deal with me being (out of the state) with DH and our families. OM has moved away from all his friends and does not have much family here. Plus his girlfriend is going to be spending the holiday's in another state with her family as well. OM told me he is really sad that I won't be here to spend Christmas with him. But, such is life. I am actually really looking forward to going home with H and seeing all our family in a few weeks...we moved 12 hours away last year and I haven't been "home" since. Gonna be FUN!!!

Hi dayz,

I'm a MW... and while I know that I will miss MM over the holiday period... I'm really looking forward to the holidays... being able to go away and spend time with my children and DH's family... who we don't see much off as we are interstate to our families.

I usually still have email contact with MM over the holidays... bar one or two days... but this year will be no contact for us for about 3 weeks... I'm heading interstate and he is also going away... so no pc... and instant messages will be a no go on our mobiles... just not worth the risk.

I'm actually happy that MM will be getting some time off to head away and spend quality time with his family... he's been working so hard and has had so much going on... that he needs it... and deserves it.

It's not so much the time away from MM for me... but more so that I wish that I could just call him and wish him a Merry Christmas... but I can't... unfortunately... it's all just part and parcel to our relationship.

Funny, I just told MM how happy I truly was for him to be with his family who are all coming home for Christmas.. and the well earned break from the fast lane that he will have.. NC time will be a long one, as our holiday dates do not coorespond. I am also happy to go see the family as well... There are going to be very lonely moments without him, this I am also sure of... But goes with the package, as you so rightly said!!!

ARRRG!!! Summer for you down under in OZ isn't Sweet.. Enjoy for us coldies up north... LOL a warm -5°Celcius out!!! I am dreaming of a white Christmas...

Christmas is really for the kids.. of course i will miss my MM. There will be times of NC with his W on vacation, kids out of school and my H on vacation, but the way i look at it it will make our first day back together after the holidays SOOOOO much better! I look forward to the time spent withmy kids.

Hey mitzy,

same here... mine and MM's date's don't really correspond either... I'll be off Christmas arvo and don't get home till after the New Year... where as MM is working till the New Year... except the Public Holidays... and won't get back until after the 12th :( this will be our longest no contact since I've known him... but I'm sure I shall survive.

Weather here has been warming up... going to be 36 degrees today... which I think in mid 90's in your terms... although don't quote me on that... and it'll only get hotter.

I agree that the holidays are for the kids and nothing gives me more pleasure then watching the kids open their gifts and receive things they wanted. The joy on their faces. However, I still want something for me, because I am a kid at heart and would really enjoy spending time with my MM and the children around the holidays. Just wish I could be in his arms for the holidays.

I totally understand wanting to be with MM on christmas. To make things easier I am going to concentrate on my kids during this time. Each of us has to find our own way to deal with this....good luck!
