Hi Gal,

I'm sorry you're going through this...especially now that its over.

But the 'no caller id' text messages can be sent from the 'carriers' website.

http://www.anontxt.com/

Above is a link to just one of many non-provider run websites that allow you to send anonymous text messages for free.

I have tested this once, on my now ex BF/AP as a joke. There is no way to identify who sent the message when sent from a site such as this. All you need is the recipients phone number.

that anontxt website is no longer active due to abuse..too bad, i wanted to have some fun with it....but i'm sure there are other sites like that one...i had no clue...

Now as far as this anonymous text msg thingy I agree with the poster that said it can be the XAPs wife....maybe its his current girlfriend...I wouild just ignore it, there is someone that wants to play with your head. Maybe you should change your cell phone number....just bc they are threatening to tell your H doesn't mean that they will.....and you just deny deny deny....who would have proof that you had an affair two years ago?

Hmm.
We have sprint (ever since Sprint was Sprint, well, I've jumped between a few companies since they all started but BF has always and only been with sprint)and have never received a "no caller id" text. Only through the provider website and in that case it still give a message id or transmission id (dang! I can't remember what it's called!! AAAUGH- I used to work for a cell company!), so it must be from one of those other party websites; it won't be from a phone.
You might want to call sprint on that one to see how the message even got through.
Someone who knows you, though, is not the friend you think they are OR *he* is messing with you (who would be the only one who would really be thinking about this OR his wife since she already suspected you).
Did you mention it to him? I would but would not ask if he did it, just gauge the reaction.

This helps, but does Verizon only allow you to send to other Verizon numbers? I have Sprint and I tested it and tried sending a text to a non-Sprint number and the person did not receive it. I figured it was because you could only send Sprint to Sprint text messages via their website.

Jana

His stbx is one suspect, but he seemed to think that it was not her because she has not thrown my name in his face for awhile. I called him right after I received the text and he said that she has been hounding him about another friend of his (whatever... his stbx is probably right cause it is probably his new gf).

Witchy,

I suspected him for a minute but I called him about a minute after I received it and he was driving on the road so he wasn't sitting in front of a computer or anything. So that is why I no longer suspect him. He is also not very savvy when it comes to this sort of thing. He actually just got a phone that allows texting and I had to help him create his online account cause he didn't know what to do.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Thanks Shadowz... but as OP stated... this site is down.

Are there any others out there like it?
