How do you keep away the Jewish guilt when trying to move life forward with AP?

Why would being Jewish make you more guilty? What does it matter what religion/gender/race you are? Cheating is Cheating.

I've often thought I should be Jewish given the amount of guilt I've always felt over everything I do ;).

I think the bottom line is that you either learn how to deal with the guilt (and how it's done can be different for everyone) or end the A.

I thought Catholic guilt was the worst... :-)

Having gone to 12 years of Catholic school, I actually think it backfired in a way. Since I was taught that if I missed mass on Sunday and died without confessing that sin, I would be banned to eternal fire torture for all of time, somewhere I decided that eternal fire torture was obviously my future so I should really rack up the mortal sin so I would at least deserve it! In first grade I would not wear a sleeveless dress because my teacher (a nun of course) was telling us that it was "immoral". Oh well, what would she say to me now...

Consider myself a spritual person, but not "religious", so I don't have that issue to contend with. I was a basket case in the guilt dept months ago...I was in therapy boo-hooing because I felt guilty for not feeling guilty!

Turns out, in many cases a female has to be emotionally detached from her M/H to a certain degree in order to "allow" herself to go there, and won't fee guilt becasue of it. Learned it's quite common.... Didn't make me feel tons better, but at least I understood...

Realized this was part and parcel of the A and had to come to terms w/ it...I get fleeting "pangs" sometimes but remind myself I chose this and deal w/ it :)

Hello ladies,

I was raised Catholic and no disrespect to anyone but I don't care for that religion much and I do agree with Cl that Catholics may be one of the worse when it comes to feeling guilty about our sins. It doesn't matter what race/gender/religion we are. We have freedom of choice and what ever we choose to do we have to live with. I do think we are not horrible people, its just the choices that we have made are not very good ones at the present moment.

Lost I can feel you on the guilt and how it bothers you every day but I know one day we'll wake up in the morning with clear out look on this A and we will remove ourselves from all the chaos we've created. Until then I wish you much strength & love, where you are. Smile its Friday and the weekend is here =).

Much peace & Love,

Rayne
