good things came to those who waited!

DH & i had a movie whirlwind courtship. never any disagreements. married in gorgeous wedding...
then, we bought a dream house (BUT...!- then, his job moved their location 60 away!)
it's been a long commute for DH & thus also less time together.
i had times when i felt we had to devote way too much of our day to our jobs.
DH's parents started pressuring us to fly to their rural town across the country (For several different occasions).
DH felt a lot of guilt from his parents.
we both made some adjustments to the day's output.
our marriage is back to being the dreamy way it was all along before the job change & before his parents started complaining about our not going across the country enough to see them.
his parents finally saw the light also- b/c none of DH's siblings were willing to go to their remote town across the country on the occasions that ILs were requesting.
so the pressure was taken off us.
good news to share! thx! Kat

Did you not just post a day or two ago about how unhappy you were with your DH's workaholism?
...........................................
can a workaholic improve?
DH refuses to look around for another job & his job of the last 10 yrs. requires 14 hrs. a day every day.
he gets up at 4 am to go to work and comes home at 7:30 pm.
and he can't even take a phone call during the day- nonstop meetings & supervising, etc.
the problem is in his head.
no one has to work like that forever.
his job actually UNDERPAYS him!
he's a great husband otherwise. but we can't have a normal life together- except seeing each other on weekends. and i think he should make the most he can make or choose to be together more.
it's a lose-lose situation for me.
help! i've been suffering w/ this for 3 years.
i'm about to take an out of town job & a job w/ travel - just so i'm not the only one who is actually here in this marriage.
he's made me miserable w/ his job obsession.
