You seem like a sensitive gal. It feels as if your ex did not bring out the positive side of you. I can understand this, as when we are unhappy in a relationship we become more pessimistic, whereas breaking up makes us feel better.
I would suggest you see this new guy again, as he is the one that made you feel happy and feminine again. I understand you are reserved and not in the best of moods. However, you need to come out of your emotional jail, you need to forget your ex.
Your ex story hurt you in multiple ways.
1. It didn't work out in a positive way.
2. You were actually accused for not making him happy, for being negative.
3. Your friends became "his friends". (*Why did this happen? Is he rich ? Extrovert and
amusing? What is it about him that made them follow him?)
If I were you, I would try to entertain myself, socialise with people who make me feel good. Also, I would try to get even with my ex. Renew your looks / hairstyle, go to gym or to dance classes, maybe yoga classes in order to obtain your SELF-SUFFICIENT & CENTERED FEELING.
Once you are happy with yourself, you'll be surprised to see your ex, and all the "friends" coming back to you again. However, I wouldn't go back to a guy that hurt my feelings.
