Need some ideas...

I feel like my relationship with SO has been pushed to the back burner since the arrival of our beautiful baby boy (which I understand is quite common).

I could use some ideas on how to revitalise it which are also easy to implement with a newborn in the house. We have a very strong relationship, it's just that the baby is taking all our time and attention right now, and I want to rebalance things.

TIA :o)

Welcome to the board Lianne,

Congrats on your little boy. I just had a little girl in Aug so I know exactly what you are feeling and going through with this. It's what I call needing "mommy and daddy time".

Thanks Tara! My mum had Josh the other night, which gave SO and me our first uninterrupted few hours together in over 6 weeks. But like you, I was very anxious that he was away from me and found it difficult to relax.

Re bedtime, it's a great idea but at the moment he doesn't go to 'bed' until about 10-11pm, by which time I'm ready to pass out! I suppose it will be easier once he gets a more settled schedule.

There are so many things that I didn't realise about being a mother, lol!

Yeah Kaylin used to go to bed around 10-11 too but she naturally moved herself 8:30-9:00.

Welcome to the board lianne_67,

When the baby naps, take a nap also, even if it's only 20-40 minutes it will help. Even if you have to set a timer for you. If you can stand it let the housework go for one day a week so you can be more rested.
