I know this might sound really bad, but I need some advice.

Welcome to the board annetime,

He's decided his behavior is a reflection of his love for you, though it is smothering and borders on obsessive.

::He tells the same jokes or the same comments so often I have become so desensitized to his humor that he gets his feelings hurt.

I have wondered that myself, but are people that need their ego stroked that much usually so giving?

That giving, you mean that smothering? Yes, they are co-dependent usually.

Do you feel as though he puts you up on a pedestal?

>>this could be his love style. And most women would kill for that.<<

do you really think most women would kill for that? I'm more inclined to think that the majority of women would feel smothered. Though, I'll grant you that an insecure woman may well love it.

I'm more inclined to think that most women would love to have *a little part* of what he does....but not the whole deal.

I can relate to some of what you say. When I call my husband at or from work he doesn't say hello. The first words out his mouth are "Are you ok?"

I am sorry, but am glad I am not alone and someone else understands.
