Are you as nice to yourself as you are to others?
Yes, I treat myself very well.
This is a very good outlook. Very healthy, and very balanced!
And what use is it to help others if it will put us in a bad place personally, right?
You are very nice on the boards, Ludam.
Maybe if you took a deep breath and quickly asked yourself how you'd reply or react if that person were on the board instead of in front of you? And how you'd treat yourself if you were writing on your board?
So what makes you grumpy? I'll show you my list if you show me yours ;-)
I wonder why it is we are sometimes so much harder on ourselves than we are with others?
It looks like you have a good balance, between pushing yourself to strive for the best or to extend your limits, but also rewarding yourself. I'm glad that you are nice to both yourself and others!
Some people think that to be nice to others we have to sacrifice ourselves, and that it's very selfish to want to make time for ourselves and our family...
You've got your priorities right, CC, and that the most important thing. And you help others from the heart, and that is a priceless gift that you are giving them.
I am generally nicer to others than myself but working on this issue!
CO-CL to Stress and Women, Bereavement and Healing,
But Moll, we think that you are a wonderful person, a very nice friend to have, supportive, loving, caring, knowledgeable, talented, passionate, strong.
I think that when you start bashing yourself, you have to stop yourself and remind yourself to treat yourself with more respect, support and love. It's difficult at first, but at least try.
When was the last time you gave yourself a pat on the back for something well done?
Your mother is a very wise woman, Carolyn. I completely agree with her - if we treat ourselves well and with respect, others will follow our lead.
