Hi there
I went on my second official date with a guy I have hung out w/ as friends before. I love it when things happen this way - moving naturally from friends to dating....
He was so sweet last night. He's very attentive, a great conversationalist, makes me laugh, always tells me he wants to see me again, and doesn't try to get physical. He's only hugged me and kissed me on the cheek so far, which I think is so sweet and shows that he is not in a rush with me....
My problem - instead of enjoying the moment and going about my day- I just keep thinking, he'll quit calling, he'll fall out of like with me....
Does anyone else do this or am I psychotic here? :)
Malena

YEP - felt that before! :( But taking this from one of my ALL TIME favorite movies...
Who's to say YOU won't fall out of like with him first? Maybe HE'S worried you'll find out he wears socks with holes in the bottom - or that he likes to pour the milk before the cereal - or maybe that's why he's not rushing the physical because the last girl laughed at him when he cried after sex. He's probably JUST as scared as you! And the fact that you are worried might just mean you really like this one!
Try to ENJOY him and not worry so much! I know easier said than done but... you don't want your insecure emotions to show through and the situation to be a self-fulfilling prophecy, do you?
Good luck and keep us informed - he and YOU sound SUPER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When I start thinking like that, I force myself to stop and I remind myself that I will be FINE even if that happens.
I also remind myself that *I* get to choose, too, it's not just a matter of him choosing me. I need to evaluate HIM as well, over time, to see if he is a good fit for me (rather than always worrying about whether he thinks I'm a good fit for him).
He sounds really nice...practice stopping those negative thoughts and substituting more realistic ones so you can enjoy the ride!

Why in the world would someone want to pour the milk before the cereal?
Okay...here's what you do.
Replace all of those negative thoughts about him not calling with elaborate fantasies about the first time he kisses you...
I promise, you won't get ANY more work done, but you'll certainly have a nice smile on your face all day long!
ROTFL
My boy friend-type (don't ask! :p) does it... he shouldn't really drink milk (anything dairy) cause it gives him really bad stomach aches - so when he wants cereal he pours alittle milk in his bowl and then adds enough cereal. NOW...
I've started doing it! :p And I do NOT know why! :p But I use to think the SAME thing - hence why I used that as a freakish example! :)
