TRYING to read men! UGH!

Situation:

There is a secretary on my floor who I talk to pretty regularly - Monday is her b'day but she is out of town this week... so... yesterday I went in, when both of her "bosses" were in the same office talking, and asked when she was going to be back... they said DEFINITELY Tuesday but maybe sometime Monday... they weren't real sure - there was a bunch of banter back and forth... blah blah blah... I've been friendly with both attorneys so it's... friendly.

Well... I've had my eye on one of the guys for awhile now - he's alittle older than I'd like and while he's always been friendly with me - he's never seemed "interested"... so... yesterday I sent the email to everyone on the floor that we'll celebrate her b'day Tuesday... and copied the two guys saying this "After a double headlock and multiple rounds of tooth-pulling... I was able to work with Jeannie's "wonderful" timekeepers and pinpoint Tuesday as the celebration day."

So... today I'm walking down the hall and notice "he" is behind me - he says "trouble maker" and I said "uh ah but you're my partner in crime" and he says "don't try and suck me in to your sick little world." I had A MILLION and one come backs to that but I'm not sure ANY of them were work-environment friendly! :p I said "oh" and I held my tongue under a wry smile (which I'm sure he saw).

Okay so then I get back to my desk and I can't stop myself from sending an email - it said "I hope you know it took everything I had to not reply to your remark! 'Don't suck me into your sick little world'" he replied with "I appreciate that".

HUH? Is that a positive reply or a "I almost got myself into deep water and thank god you let it go" reply?

UGH - I hate trying to read men! HAL?????

oh girl - you haven't heard ANYTHING yet... I have NO problem putting myself out there - I just never seem to come back with anything! :(

I hit on a cop a couple weeks ago when he stopped me - but I waited until after he DIDN'T give me a ticket! ;)

People often say "Kristen you're a trip" or "Kristen you're one of a kind" - I take them as compliments but I know what they're saying! :p

Well, I have trouble putting myself out there, but once I'm out, I don't seem to have much trouble closing.
