My weekend was just strange. Living at a friend's house is less than ideal - I really cannot wait to get back into my apartment. It looks like they will be done on Wednesday nigt so I can get back home and at least get my bed in place. I think that I will take Thursday off to put my apartment back together and clean so that I can bring the cats home that night.
I don't have a car so I spent all weekend on the bus. I went shopping for window treatments and found out that $700 is what I am going to end up spending. Ugh. Aside from schlepping around town (in the pouring rain) on public transportation, I went bowling and then I spent all day yesterday in bed reading which was nice. The house that I am staying at does not have a TV and the internet connection is not working so I felt really out of touch with the world. I am a news junkie and it almost drove me batty.
Then my ex got home last night from the funeral of an old friend and I was up late with him because he was understandable distraught. I was actually looking forward to returning to work since it is the only constant in my life until I am back home.
I had a Pampered Chef party on Saturday. It turned out to be a lot of fun and it was nice to spend the day with the girls. Yesterday, I just cleaned up my apartment.
On Saturday morning, I saw that I had three missed phone calls on my cell phone. At 3:30 a.m., 3:45 a.m., and 4:00 a.m. There were no messages and I didn't recognize the number. So, I called it back and it went straight to voice mail. It turned out to me one of my ex's. He must have been drunk. I am curious but have not called him back......
Huh, early? That's because you don't have my hours (I start work at 7:15am!)
My weekend was fun. Didn't do anything on Friday, but got a bunch of errands done, Saturday went for a sand volleyball game under extreme heat (over 100!) and played for a good 3 hours before heading home, taking a shower and getting ready for my night out with the girls from that meetup group I told you about. About 7 girls showed up, it was the first time we met each other, and it was a blast! We've already planned a beach weekend and a weekend in Philly for Sept and Oct. Yesterday I bummed around most of the day, then went to play volleyball for about one hour, later went to see "Wedding Crashers" (funny!), did some overdue shopping at the supermarket and was home by 11pm... Exhausted today, but a good weekend overall!
My weekend was pretty unusual, except a guy that I've had a crush on for a year called me a couple times, out of the blue! We're going on a date this week. Yaaayy!
I know, it's ridiculous. But I have these gigantic high-rise windows (the one in the living room is 96" across) and every single installer I got a quote from is charging me at leat $30 because it's a high-rise. Which makes NO sense. We have an freight elevator and it is probably a ton easier for them to install in my place than in a fourth floor walk-up. I want to get good window treatments now because I plan on selling in a couple of years and don't see the point in buying cheap ones now because it would just be a waste of money. I got a woven wood shade for the living room which is beautiful (and $300) and then simple fabric shades for the bedroom but they needed privacy liners because the morning sun shines right in. They are $125 each because each window is about 53" across.
As for the TV - ugh. It's terrible. I read a lot and consider myseld a reasonably intelligent person and don't buy this "smart people don't have TVs" crapola. I missed Kaysar getting back on Big Brother and that is just tragic. :)
--Friday, I had dinner with the familia then went walking with a girlfriend and her six month old. Saturday, I moved some furniture into storage and then went to a bbq. Sunday was spent mostly vegging but, I did manage to fit in some QT with two of my nieces. Like Shy, they started back to school on Monday. I hope their new teachers are as cognizant(taking pics at the zoo for the bulletin board)!!

Nothing exciting about my weekend.

Two things in your post completely baffle me...
1.
Drunk dials at that time of the morning? Boy, wouldn't those messages be fun to listen to over and over and over.

Friday, I went to the dentist. Surprise! He told me I had to have a root canal. So my weekend was shot. I was in bed all weekend in pain.
But it's all good. At least the pain stopped today (Tuesday).
CGUN, I like the new pic!!
