A guy's question on online profiles

Hey, I'm a guy, I put up my profile on Match and Yahoo, so do you think it's better to wait till somebody "winks" at me, or start writing emails to everyone?
I want to be absolutely certain of interest, so my plan is to wait until she initiates a "wink" (because if she just replies that could be mild interest).
Also, my profile has gotten 1 view in the past 24 hours, is that normal? If not, maybe the picture is not as good as it could be. What do you think about the idea of putting the picture up on HotOrNot .com to get an idea of how others perceive me?
Thanks

Quite a few women will not initiate winks or emails, so you might be waiting a while if you do not do so.
You can test their interest by sending a wink, but from the Online Dating board, I know a lot of women think a wink is lame. So I would send a short email *that is specific to her profile* (very important) to the women you're interested in, and figure out a way to write out your regular email address (don't use the standard format, match will strip it out) so she can write to you even if she's not a subscriber.
I wouldn't bother with hot or not, but I would post more than one photo (2-3 is good).

I just got a "wink" from a 33yr-old "big and beautiful" woman with NO PHOTO.. no photo.
Why would a woman go on match.com without a picture?
I absolutely hate winks/icebreakers.
Men do it too.
