I need some input on this situation. I had dated a gentleman for 8 years. About a year and half ago we were talking about moving in together. We were waiting until my lease was up on my apartment. About 2 months before my lease was us he told me he couldn't make the comittment. Needless to say I was crushed. I was completely and totaly in love with this man. He told me he loves me but he can't make that kind of comittment. After that we went our seperate ways. I feel if you can't make a committment after 8 years there is something mentally wrong with him. We have talked several times in the past years.
Ok fast forward to last Friday night. I was sitting here at home watching TV and unwinding from a busy day at work. My phone rings and on the caller ID it's a call from a pay phone. I answer it and it's my ex-boyfriend. We start off with the normal catch up conservation, you know how are you, how are the kids. He ask me if I'm dating anybody, I told him not right now, I've been on a few dead end dates. We talk a few mins more so I ask him "what about you, are you seeing anybody?" Well he tells me are you sitting down, I ran into somebody I went to high school with a few months ago, we haven't seen each other in 27 years, we hit it off and got MARRIED. Can you believe it Mr. non-committment got married. Me being the nice person I am offered my congrlations. He contunes to tell me he felt obgaliated to help her raise her 2 sons. Never once did he mention the "L" word he is so afraid to say. Well as I was ready to hang up he tells me he misses me and that there is will always be a "special place in his heart for me." Ok at this point I am ready to gag.
So ladies why do you think an ex-bf would feel the need to call his ex and tell her he got married. My thoughts are he's not over me and he has regrets getting married.
One last thing, he's not a young guy in his 20's or 30's, he's 45 years old.
Thanks for any input.
P.S. I am completely over this guy. I have never had anybody insult me the way this guy has.

I haven't the slightest idea why he actually did it (only he knows that), but the first thing that comes to mind is that he wanted to rub it in your face.
