I just got news that the express store i work at is closing...This is a shock. I've been working there longer than any of the managers, this will be weird.

So sorry to read that.
But remember. When one door closes, another door opens bursting with better opportunities.
Keep your chin up and your spirits up and you will be fine.

Change isn't always bad (although it's usually difficult).

I know the feeling. Here’s what happened to me in the past. It was hard work getting my first normal job after college. I had to quit that a few months after I started, because of an imminent layoff. The next job lasted a bit over a year, since the company restructured and gave half the company the heave ho. At the next place, there was a merger and a closing. All of that happened in about two years time!

It’s crazy where I live. If you apply for something fancy, you are told that you don’t know enough, and they won’t hire you. If you apply for a basic job, you are said to be overqualified, and once again, they won’t hire you. In that case, they are afraid you will quit as soon as you find something better and you will be unmotivated.

Just letting you know this, so you know that it happens to others all the time. One of my friends got laid off in the same room where he had a wedding reception scheduled three months later! Talk about bad karma!

As a guy, I can tell you what my ultimate male fantasy is. It is not the obvious. I want to have an instruction manual for life, so you know what to do in different situations. What could top that?

Good luck. We all fall down, but we must dust off and get back up again.
