I have been looking all over iV for a board about this subject but I can't find one. I am researching my next new vehicle right now. Thing is I have no idea what I want. So I have subscribed to Consumer Reports. Have you done that yet? It's only $4.95 for a month and they have helped lead me in the right direction. I've also checked out Car and Driver and Road and Track but I think CR is really all you need.
I'm leaning towards a car instead of an SUV this time. My top three are: Acura TL, Acura RSX or a Honda Accord Coupe. I am going to test drive each one to make my final decision. I still may get another Grand Cherokee if I hate driving a car again but that's my last resort.
I was researching hybrids and then I heard that they aren't worth the extra money until gas goes above $5 a gallon. I also heard that Toyota makes the only true Hybrid - the Prius. Up until I heard all this, I was all over that Honda Hybrid. There's too many conflicting "stats" on these things for me to make a good decision. Seems like you can ask the same question to five different informed individuals (including dealers) and you will get five different answers.
I drive two hours a day and I want to like what I'm driving and not have to get gas twice a week. What are your needs? Have you determined a top three?
You can have mine! I hate it with a passion. I hate getting in it every day and I hate paying for it. I loved my Cherokee but it died and now I have an Escape which was the absolute wrong vehicle for me.

The research I did talked about two different kinds of hybrids, but I don't remember the complete difference.

Have you checked out Acuras?
Here is an article that came out today in CNN:
Hybrids: Don't buy the hype
Sure, hybrids save gas but they won't save you money. There are smarter ways to go.
