First & Lasting Impression

I have often wonder how long a first impression lasts. In another thread I wrote about a woman I spoke to in the sauna yesterday. We only spoke for about 10 minutes but I am still thinking about her and I was hoping to see her again today but didn't. Is it possible I could have made the same impression on her?

Can a good impression be made in only 10 minutes? If so, how long is it likely to last?

Speed/Slow dating revolves around the theory that a few minutes is all it takes to find out whether you want to see someone again.

Any thoughts?

Oh, I think first impressions last a long time. At least for me they do.

I had a seven-year crush on a guy that started with one of those amazing first impressions (a million years ago - back in high school).

My current crush is a guy at the gym that I've never spoken to, but there's something in the way he carries himself that I really like. He's made a very positive first impression on me based on not being one of the gym meatheads, among other things. When I actually speak to him, I'll let you know if my first impression was correct. :) (I feel like I'm in high school again, talking about crushes - blush).

I say if you're still thinking about someone days/weeks later, there's something there -- even if it's only based on a 10-minute talk. If it had that effect on you, it's likely to have affected her as well. Not necessarily, but definitely a possibility! Worth a second chat at least, right?

I would say it's definitely possible and it's happened to me. Sometimes I'm right and sometimes I'm not but if you meet someone and still think about them after you've met, it's worth at least finding out a little more.

To be honest, first impressions don't really mean all that much to me.

I absolutely think a good impression can be made in that short of an amount of time.

You know, since they were in a sauna, it also matters how much body hair was exposed.
