Thirteen inches of snow, of course!

Last night when I went to bed at 10:30, it looked like daylight outside because of the snow falling.

Beware! They told us 4-7 inches and they were WRONG!

I left the office early today and was thinking of heading to the gym. By the time my bus got to the gym, it had snowed almost an inch so I just went the couple of extra stops home. I'd rather go to our half-*ssed workout room in my building than trudge home in the snow. It's WINDY too!

Its really pretty right now snowing in Chicago. I'm excited! What a great way to end my first semester of school to a nice bit of snow! But I'm glad I'm not going out anymore today.

Oh that is a bummer! Yuck. I was thinking you were lucky getting to stay home but that stinks that you have to miss The Nutcracker.
And if I remember correctly, this is what you bought a new outfit for?

Yes, well, we had the night from hell. The snow was incredible and, as I am sure you have heard by now, a plane crashed through the barrier at Midway airport, killing a 6 year old boy and injuring 11 other people. Horrible.

When I was in college, my mother always booked me on lower cost airlines to and from Boston - mostly Continental and Northwest. As a result, I was always flying in and out of Midway. I hated it because it is like the Flintstones airport compared to O'Hare. On top of that, the landings are usually so tough because the runways are so short. Once I started buying my own tickets, I refused to fly out of there (which stinks since Southwest does not fly out of O'Hare and they have such great prices) because I always said that one day a plane was going to overshoot the runway and end up in someone's home. In fact, there have been two other instances of this happening at Midway and the last time 45 people died.

This is one of those times that I really hate to be right.

I heard about that this morning.
