Okay, maybe not everyone, but it was kinda cool.

First, there was no removal of clothing.

Oh Shy, I am so happy, it sounds like it may be something that isn't serious. I just want you to be healthy. I know that you don't know the results yet but I honestly don't want anything wrong with you.
I'm glad it wasn't too bad. Please let us know what the doc's say!!!

I actually want there to be something wrong with the gall bladder because that means that they know what's causing my issues and they can fix it.

Shy, my fingers are crossed that you get some answers. It sounds strange but I know what you mean- sometimes it's easier to hear "here's what's wrong and here's what we are going to do about it" than nothing at all. I am glad to hear the pipida wasn't too bad though!

P.S. Was the technician even a little bit cute? hehe ;-)

Wow - that sounds kinda neat (with the exception of the 2 minutes of pain). I am also fascinated by this stuff - I write medical related policy so I have to be. When I had an EKG a couple of months ago I drove the tech crazy asking all kinds of questions about how the machine works. :)

Keep us posted.

I'm so sorry to hear that you may not be getting the answers you'd hoped for. It seems to me like this might be worth a second opinion? If you feel like you know what's going on, there's no reason to stop looking for answers. It's your body and you know it best.
Have you done any other research on disgestive disorders? I, too, am convinced that IBS is assigned to just about every woman. However, as common as it is I suppose it's possible for just about anyone to have symptoms. I have some of these symptoms but it runs in the family so it's not really a surprise for me. Did you ever have a chance to look up Celiac's disease online? There is a lot of good info there that might guide you, even if it's not something that directly applies to what you're experiencing.

If it's any distraction for you, I went on a terrible date tonight. It's 11:30 and I wish I would have been at home, in my bed typing away 3 hours ago... yuck! I've considered writing a post about it but right now I think I just want to forget it even happened. Just to give you a little snapshot of what the guy was like, I now believe I know more about 'Cammie', his last girlfriend, than I know about him. Yuck!

Aw, Shy, H-E-double hockey sticks! That stinks. I hate that feeling. I don't remember if we asked you this or not, but is the doctor you are seeing a gastroenterologist? I hope so - seeing a specialist would be the best thing. I agree that you should have a second opinion. You paid for all of those tests so ask for the reports and films (if possible) and schedule another opinion with a specialist. If nothing else, at least you will know that you did all that you can to figuer out what is going on.

As for IBS, well, I think of it as a catch-all diagnosis. It depends on what doctor you talk to - some really try to defend it as a specific diagnosis. But many admit it isn't. I was having a lot of problems at one point a few years ago. I ended up in the ER once because every time I tried to breathe, my abdominal muscles spasmed so severely that you could see it. They thought that I had a punctured lung and they did a ton of tests and it turns out that the sphincter muscle at the bottom of my esophagus does not work properly and I get stomach acid in all kinds of bad places. Acid reflux, basically. I control it with diet. But I had been having problems for months and my doctor just thought it was stress. So I know how you feel.

I feel for you.

It is amazing what some doctors let go. I am one of those people who really avocates for themselves when it comes to medical professionals. I have to admit that it's a bit easier because I have a PPO and do not need a referral. If she does not give you a referral, ask her for one. Especially if she is not really listening to you. That's rule number one of diagnostic evaluation - listen to what the patient is saying. You can get a lot of clues about what is going on by listening to what the patient is experiencing.
