I'd have slept past 5:00 a.m., watched the news, had tea, took the dog to the park, gone for a run and then a nap. I love naps :-)

If I didn't have to work today, I would also do some window shopping and some real shopping. I have now lost 28 pounds and, although I have all of my old size 6 and 8 clothes, I threw out all of my smaller underwear because it made me depressed. I really need some panties that fit - there's nothing like wearing a thong that is 2 sizes too big. I would also sit in a local cafe that has a fireplace and leisurely read the paper and make some progress on the Catherine de Medici biography I am reading. Finally, I would spend as much time at the gym as I wanted and then sit in the sauna for awhile.

Instead, I am currentlly sitting on a conference call that I have nothing to contribute to or take from but never the less have to babysit and dreading some research that I have to do this afternoon...

Congrats on the 28 pounds. For pretty much the first time in my life I actually have to work at keeping the weight off and I know what a battle it can be. That's super cool!

Work pretty much doesn't need me today at all so I'm starting to wonder why I came in... hence, all the posts! :-)

If I didn't have to work today, I'd go shopping and maybe buy myself a little treat (can't spend a lot on myself, though, because I have to replenish what Christmas wiped out lol).

Thanks! It hasn't been too tough, really. I was working out 3 times per week before so I just added a day and stepped up the intensity. As for the diet, I rarely feel like I am deprived. Weight Watchers is a good program for that. I used to be able to eat whatever I wanted and I just have to accept that life will never be like that for me again. I need to really watch what I eat. Not a big deal, really, because I can have the things that I want but I just have to watch how much and how often.

"accept that life will never be like that for me again."

That's the biggest part. In my opinion, everything after that is cake.

Mmmm, cake. :-)

Congrats Jules. I too lost weight (dunno how much since I do not weigh myself). I know I have lost 2 inches since March. It has been a combination of working out 30-45 min cardio and abs, 4-7 times a week and going to a vegetarian way of eating (I eat fish). I did not do this to lose weight but to be healthier. I rather have a lifestyle change than a diet for diet implies short term to me.

It was not hard to eliminate meat and dairy for myself. I was inspired by my younger brother who had high blood pressure (runs in the family) despite his daily exercise of running or swimming switching to a vegan diet. He is below his college weight (he's 50). Plus I was dating a Buddhist vegetarian who was aware of things like superfoods and read The China Diet which linked animal protein diets to cancer.

It's great to notice results when I was not really looking for any. All I noticed was that I get tired (I tend to do intense workouts). This is the first time in my entire life that I am able to look at myself naked in the mirror. Now if only I have someone in my life I can show that to.....LOL.

Honestly, I eat a lot of Lean Cuisines for dinner (I don't have time to cook these days) and I eat a lot of low fat yougurt and fresh fruit. When I want a snack, I eat Pirate's Booty which is really tasty. Subway sandwiches are great. I love soup, so I will heat up a can of low fat soup and eat a high fiber and low fat english muffin with it (Weight Watchers makes some good muffins). For treats, I eat Skinny cow ice cream sandwiches. I eat a heck of a lot of low fat string cheese.

I was going to get some Lean Cuisines last night, but the ones I like are all around 7-9 grams of fat, which is too much.
