online dating

Hi - here are my stats...single, 30 years old, active, outgoing, people tell me I'm attractive. Here's my question....what online dating sites do you guys like? I've tried match.com and yahoo.com and eharmony...anyone have anything that is working for them? I'm trying to schedule 1 date a week -irregardless if I feel like I want to go or not. You've got to get out there, you never know who you might run into. Chin up ladies...thanks for the help!

I won't even go into why I hate online dating here.
So good luck!
I met my sweetie on date.com. My thinking was that someone who actually did some research and selected something "off the beaten path" and a little less mainstream would be someone I was interested in. After some "work" meeting a handful of interesting folks from various sites, I was right!
Not sure why so many are down on OLD. You do have to compensate a little for the fact that it's a different medium than meeting someone by chance. But you're still faced with the same elements of patience, having to employ good judgement and common sense.
When I finally decided I was ready to "settle down" 6 years after my divorce, my strategy was simple. Try a few (and by a few I mean 3) sites simultaneously, spend some time doing your diligence with different people. Be strong, and walk from those that just aren't a fit - and do go with that "gut" feeling. But most importantly, be yourself and have fun with the process. The right one will shine through.
So, back to my own situation. A year and a half later...we've discussed marriage and family, timeframe for engagement, bought a house and are already "investing" as a couple in our future.
In the infamous words of Rob Schneider - "YOU CAN DO IT"!
Good luck!!
