Which one do you like best? The hatchback or the sedan? The hatchbacks are available now. I test drove one yesterday. Very smooth on the road and gets great gas mileage. However, something about it's body, I am not crazy about. This sounds silly, I know, but I think that the sedan's body looks more mature. A little classier? I needed a new car yesterday but the sedan isn't available until the Spring. Ugh. What to do?!?!? Any advice? Here's the link w/ a side by side picture of both:

Thanks in advance! I am SO indecisive sometimes. Oy.

I prefer the hatchback. It's fun. Sedans are okay but so ordinary.
Thanks everyone for your responses. I hope you all have a great weekend!
I am still torn. I think the hatchback is kind of cute and fun but it also sort of reminds me of the old station wagons from the early eighties. I think that's my hangup. There's no telling which way I will go, LOL.
Thanks again!
I generally prefer hatches, but the sedan looks nicer.
From a practical point of view - how much will you use the boot (sorry, translation from Aussie: Trunk :))? Do you have things you regularly need to carry? For example, because we took her a lot of places on outings, when my grandmother was alive we took her when we checked out cars (to make sure she could get in and out of the pasenger seats easily) and her walking frame, plus the cooler box (eskey)for the shopping and made sure they all fit in the back. It was a determining factor in which car we bought.
You should be able to get what we call a 'black box' mesurement. It's the measurements of the biggest single box item that would fit in the back, taking into account wheel arches and all those things you forget about. I'm not sure where you'd get the information though.
I do have a rambunctious little terrier. The seats lay down in the back and she can move around back there on longer road trips. I guess that could be a plus. Other than that, I would only use the trunk for groceries. I do go camping, but never have to drive.
I drove across town tonight, an hour each direction, and I was checking out all the cars on the interstate. I was leaning towards the sedan, but now I think I may prefer the hatchback. Oh well, in the end, I may have to leave it up to a coin toss!
Thanks for your response!
Sedan! Sedan! Sedan!
The hatchback screams soccer mom with a stroller in the back.
Hi! I have a Scion tC car, not the box. It has a huge back seating area and when the seats are down, the trunk space is very large. It is a hatchback that looks like a sedan. You will have the great Toyota reliability (better than Nissan, in my opinion), a real sporty car that is practical as well, great looks, a very low price for a loaded car, $17,000, no negotiating of the price ~ everyone pays the same, Pure Pricing, and TWO moonroofs. Take a look at it before you buy, and do not buy anything until you drive the tC. It has a great crash test rating, too.
I have 30,000+ miles, and no problems! It has actually INCREASED in value $2,000.
