I think its really important to not totally cut fun stuff when it comes to diets and eating. You have to let yourself indulge every now and then so you wont just "lose it" and eat the whole box or carton or whatever.
I buy really good dark chocolate and have one small piece a day or every couple days. That staves off any cravings I have for sweet stuff.
I like the 100 Calorie packs of Oreos, Chips Ahoy, etc. I'm not very knowledgeable about the health stuff but if those are actually healthy, they are pretty good!
OMG I am right there with you. I am an assitant to a plastic surgeon (also one of his patients) Anyhow the way I look is like really important when patients see me because I do consults and stuff.
Anyhow I had been under a ton of stress and I gained 3 pounds. He noticed!!!! And then scolded me about it.. RRRRRRRRR Its one thing for me to stress out about my weight but having someone else do it is hard. Anyhow I need to loose a total of 15 pounds to make him happy and so I went to the nutritionist on Friday and she says it should take me 2 months if I stick to this eatting/exercise plan.
Being that time of month... I want chocolate cake!!!! Oh well.. bran flakes it is!
I do want to mention it is also one of my goals to loose the weight so its not like I am doing it for anyone else. It was a goal I told him about and so he is trying to keep me to it.
Sounds like you need some fatty bars, LOL. They're the bars that I got when I went to a local weight loss center. Those mugs were goo-ood ; ) I guess you've tried Snackwell's and Atkins stuff, huh? Yeah, still can't eat them like lettuce though. Bummer. "They" say that cravings only last for 15 minutes and then subside. I don't know if I believe that though.
Just think how great you'll look in those size 8 jeans : ) It's worth the torment! Isn't it? HA-HA! Yeah, I think so . . . hey, if you can eat just one cookie, that would be okay wouldn't it? Some dieticians claim that if one can simply taste what they're craving they will be satisfied. I'm an emotional eater though so, I don't think that rule applies all of the time. I wouldn't want you to sabatoge your progress, but you could try it.
Have you tried making low-fat oatmeal cookies for moments like that? They are healthier than most cookies (especially if you make them low-sugar too) and they usually take care of the cravings for me.
Another thing that often works for me is a slice of raisin bread. It has the sweetness and the caky texture.
Finally, when I really need chocolate, hot cocoa made with skim milk and low-fat cocoa powder has been a good solution for me.
I am addicted to cakey stuff too! I wonder what is better for you? A candy bar or a cupcake? I'll have to look that up. Well, I'm glad that you still got in under the radar, that's fantastic.
I am looking to try out some new fruits. I'm tired of bananas, strawberries and grapes. I've had mango chutney but I've never had mango all by itself. I would like to try it, along with some other exotic fruits like, persimmon, kumquats and passion fruit ; )
Have you tried pomegranates? They are very tasty! I learned a trick too. Pop one in half, get a wooden spoon, hold one half over a bowl and then tap away. All of the seeds pop out like delicious little pearls. If you're like me and do not enjoy eating them one by one, you can put them in a blender, pulse just enough times to break them up, then strain off the seeds and drink the juice. Yum!

I have my "cheat" stuff that doesn't ruin my diet.
