Im tired of it too. I dont start complaining until its below zero...well now that its there, I'm ready for it to warm up again. I think it will be a short spring though since most of us had such a late winter.
hey, here's some warmth: come on down to New Orleans where the sun is shining and the Mardi Gras parades are rolling. The weather is nice today, but I'm at home with a sprained ankle, while the parades are rolling down the street, a block from my house! Still the house is warm and the sun is nice!
It's sunny and 58 degrees today! We've had nothing but cloudy skies and rain for the last few weeks. I have this overwhelming urge to call up some friends and get together on a patio for dinner this evening! I've got it (spring fever) bad! Of course, by tonight, it will be too cold to eat outside and anyway, the sun sets around quitting time. Only a couple more months though! Woo-hoo!! I can't wait! I think I may start planning a camping trip for early spring.
-- I hope everyone else is experiencing some nice weather. I don't mean to rub our sunshine in anyones face ; ) Especially in lieu of the 17 miles in Dumas, AR hit by tornadoes.
My sister lives in upstate NY - yes, they are sick of the snow and cold. My poor nephews have to dress like it's the north pole just to wait for the bus. They also have sheep, so it's a challenge to take care of them in this weather.
It's been really cold in Denver this year as well. We've had one or two days above 40 since November, but mostly it's been around the teens and 20s. Our saving grace here, unlike KC, is low humidity. It's snowing again today - I think we're supposed to get a few inches.
My crocus came up the other day, and it really made me long for spring. My tulips are trying to come up as well - way too early, but it's because we had so much snow this year and then a few sunny days, so they're confused. :) I am so ready to plant my first full garden ever.
The good news this year is that we get four extra weeks of Daylight Savings Time (for those of us not in AZ or IN). It starts the second week of March this year. WOO HOO. An extra hour of sunshine after work makes a HUGE difference in my mood.
I know, it really bums me out to go into work in the dark and if I don't get out of the building for lunch, I don't see the sun at all because it has already set by the time I leave. Four extra weeks of daylight savings, I had no idea. Great!
I had some buttercups to try to bloom. Good luck with your garden! The work is so rewarding! I've bought some poppy seeds along with some foxglove : ) I can't wait to plant them!
