That's not bad at all! It's nice to sneak away so early sometimes, plus given your very early start to the day, it's really not so early...
I have gotten in a bad habit of staying up late (11:30) and waking up about 7:30 (but it still somehow takes me 2 hours to get ready in the morning because I'm still sleepy.) I want to start getting into work earlier, so something will have to give way!
I work from 4 in the afternoon until midnight, so lately I've been getting to sleep around 1:30 or 2, and waking up around 8:30 or 9. But it's not like I have a wild partying life! I tend to sleep a little less in the summer, but once winter comes, I can stay in bed till 11 or noon easily!
I would LOVE to be able to sleep late like that everyday!
AJ, enjoying life with C.
That's nine hours. That's pretty good, actually!
I can handle seven hours of sleep.
<< If I'm in bed by 8:30, then I usually am not asleep until an hour later.>>
Try not watching TV for 45 minutes before bed. I hear that can affect your ability to fall asleep quickly.
For getting up that early I don't blame you for going to bed at that hour. What's 5:30AM look like? LOL
I was just thinking - I got home from the office at 9PM last night, didn't go to bed until 3:30AM and was up at 7:30AM, I have bad sleeping habits.
I wish I had the discipline you are showing. Maybe I wouldn't be as cranky!

I get up at 5:40 and I try really hard to be IN bed by 10 (asleep by 11). I am constantly sleep deprived, as I really could use a solid 8 hours (I know some people are ok on less, I'm really not). Every few days I really like to try to get in bed before 9:30 (like you, I need an hour to fall asleep). I really think we all have our own natural rhythms and mine would definitely NOT involve going to bed at 10pm and waking up as early as I do, but it's not as bad as my sister who is a night owl, but works an early shift.
I say don't feel like an old maid. You have to do what gets you through the day. As a teacher, it's so hard to explain to others WHY I am so strict about bedtime, but I KNOW how it is to deal with 26 kids with little energy and it's not pretty and it's not fair to them. I do know I go to bed later than some of my fellow teachers, so you are definitely not alone. And you are at the beginning of the year- it's rough to get back in the routine. The first two weeks of our school year in July I was plain exhausted.
No worries! It doesn't make you lame.
