'Relationships' vs 'Friendships'

We know 'friendships' never end. We have friends from childhood, friends we made as young adults, friends we made at college and beyond. Sure friends fall out of touch, or move away or focus on their busy lives. If paths cross there is always the friendly get together, drinks, chit chat, reminiscing of the old times, etc. But friends never cease being friends.

I understand what you're saying, however I'll add one qualifier; friendships CAN end if they end in bad blood...I have a friend who used to blow me off consistently and I'd finally had enough after she blew me off for three or four apartment viewings when we were looking to be roommates.
I get the question. Kind of simple. I don't want to have sex with my friends. I don't "live" with my friends. I don't build a life with my friends. I can forgive a ton of stuff as it does not "become" an intimate part of my own life.
With some "relationships", those kind of complications never leave my head. My ex who I have spoken of often. She was like my best friend in many ways. However, I don't want to shake her hand! I don't want to know who she is sleeping with and shake his hand. It is more complicated than just sex, but on the surface . . .it summarizes the basic difference to me. My interest in her was far deeper than a friendship. I love my friends, but I
