My roommate (whom I like and am happy for despite this rant) came home this morning from a first date she went on last night with a guy she'd never before and was set up with.

Ok, well she's never met the guy before and they've been on one date. Of course it was perfect -- she hasn't seen all his bad stuff yet. They are still in fairytale land. Give them a few more dates - perfect will wear off.

To your main point, though, about two kinds of people -- I do think that this love thing happens easier for some people, but I also think they will have a harder time in another area of life. We have all been given our own special challenges in life.

AJ, enjoying life with C.

Don't forget the fact that everyone has different taste. In these instances i'm guessing those women who alwasy find it easy, may have

Oh..... I know exactly what you mean!!! My best friend is like that. Guys flock to her. We could be anywhere and she always has guys coming up to her. Me..... nothing!!! It's been like that our whole adult lives! I'm the purse watcher and she's the one getting asked to dance.

I try so hard to be approachable, smile, try to start conversations, eye contact, and still nothing. She can just sit there and pick her finger nails and she's got them all. It is so very frustrating, I agree.

I agree with the earlier posts. It takes different things and different types of people to make each of us happy. A guy that may be perfect for a friend of mine might not interest me at all because she may be looking for something totally different in a man than I am.

>>We have all been given our own special challenges in life.

That's true, I never thought of it that way...

Anyway, I know, she may not even go on a second date with this guy (which I doubt, but you never know with guys), she's just been that type in the past and I know so many other women like that...I used to think it was that need they felt to be in a relationship, but I don't know...I only want to date and all I get is obsessive construction workers (who, by the way, finally approached me and asked for my number...when I told him I wasn't really dating right now nor was I interested in a relationship - take the hint! - he still insisted I gave him my number...he's been adequately warned, though) and creeps beeping at me from cars.

>> ..I know there are certain criteria I look for in men that are less common, but I know that's what it'll take to find my perfect match.

And what criteria are they ?

Don't worry. Before you know it she will be on this board complaining about life, relationships and men. ;>

It definitely is discouraging once and a while. My little sister is one of those types of people that has had nothing but good luck in love.

I think it's more like seven billion types :)

More and more, it seems to me that each person has their own unique pattern and style when it comes to love, or anything else! tallgirl, i think, made the lovely point that someone who has it easy in one area will have difficulty in another - that makes so much sense! Some things just come naturally, while others take a little more attention. And those things are different for every person.

Also, I think a lot of it may be about *seems.* It often seems that some people go in and out of relationships very seamlessly, but it may not feel exactly that way for them. Or maybe they look
