Well, my boyfriend is 5 years younger than I am. ;) Of course, I already knew I really liked him before I knew his age (we didn't get into ages until well into our first conversation). LOL But, really, I don't notice much difference between him and guys who are my age or a little older. He's got his act together way more than my ex-boyfriend, who was in his mid-30's when I dated him. And right before I met my current beau, I'd gone out a couple times with a guy who was 40, and he was totally uninterested in anything serious.

I do think many younger guys are too young to want to be in a serious relationship, but, there are some who DO want a relationship. Not that you should start dating guys who are 21/22 years old, though. Unless they're REALLY cute. Hehehe

Oh, I readily tell people that I'm 29 and will be 30 in February. I'm proud of my age! LOL But I do know people who are vague when asked how old they are. That's just not my style - I tell it like it is when people ask me about myself. LOL

This is kind of off topic but I wanted to ask, what grade/subject do you teach?

I'm currently going back to school for my ed degree to teach HS English/Phys Ed and I'm really fearing that it may not be a good choice for me.

I really think I'd love the lesson planning and coming up with different ways to get them interested but my bigger fear at the moment is dealing with the teenagers (and I definitely do not want to teach elementary).

I've always been honest about it before as well.

Me too! When is your birthday? Mine is the 14th. And I've already been referring myself as "almost 30".

>>As for high schoolers, if they scare you they will sniff that out and take advantage of it from the start.

Thanks for the response. Honestly I think I'd probably rather focus on teaching English (my minor), but PE would be okay - and for sure, that would be a much easier subject to teach. Plus, usually since it's high school and the kids here aren't required to take it at the moment, you'll only get those who actually want to be there taking it - which helps as well.

I think I'll just keep going. I have a teaching practicum coming up next September so once I'm in the classroom I'm sure I'll get a better feel.

Just wait until you're a few years past 30! If people guess you as younger, you just let them.
