Well people like what they like. We see it here all the time while someone might not want someone judging them on age, they are going to still take age into consideration with the men they date. Happens here on the boards all the time. While they may not want someone judging them for weight say they may judge someone else for weight.

As far as asking someone their age I think it's pretty much like asking someone their weight it's just not any of your business. I wouldn't ask someone their weight nor their age. It's just tacky to do so. If you feel comfortable telling someone your age that's fine, but I wouldn't ask someone their age.

It sounds like this is yet another exercise for you

Did I give the impression that I asked their ages?

Nope, did not.

Yes, I think these two women you described are insecure about their own aging process. Which is why they don't like to look at men who are older (it means they have to accept that they are older as well). It is also why they are so easily offended (read touchy) when you mention that someone in their 50s (like they are) is older (as in older than you...which is how they took it). Even though personally I think they are being touchy. No need to point it out to them, they are not going to realize that this is what they are doing until maybe they are 60 and more comfortable with themselves (hopefully).

I later asked my ex bf who is in his 50's. I told him what they said and he said "That's ridiculous...I just say 'yeah, I am older' and it's not a big deal".

We in America do not have government by the majority. We have government by the majority who participate.

I honestly do not know how you got the impression that I was not going to be their friend or did not tolerate what they said.

Yes, I said exactly that about them not being tolerant of you in my post.

No, you didn't say you were thinking of not being friends with them but you seemed so bothered
