Sending you {{{{HUGGGSS}}} shywon.

As someone who is a dedicated and conscientious teacher, cares about her students and being physically sick about what happened then it must have been really bad.

Plus having a loved one in the family with a life threatening issue on top of that must have really been another physical blow to you.

Take care,
Mark

May your soul be at rest.

May your heart remain open.

May you realize your own true nature.

May you be healed.

May you be a source of healing for the world. - a zen prayer

Shywon -

Sending positive vibes for your grandmother and you. I hope everything went well with her operation.

As a previous teacher from the Britain, I must admit I find it shocking that parents are able to call teachers in the US directly on their own personal numbers. I find it to be a violation of a teacher's personal space and time, and can lead to all sorts of misinterpreted conversation.

I always believe that any sensitive situation involving teachers/parents/students should take place in front of school authority figure, ie principal. Then there can be no misinterpretation of a conversation that took place and resolutions can be made.

Is there anyway that future conversations with this parent can be done that way?

This is why I had to leave the profession. Parents are out of control these days. They want you to literally raise their children and are happy to pass the buck to a teacher for their child's behaviour/problems, etc.

You pour your heart and soul into your work. Don't let this parent affect who you are as a professional, caring teacher.

There haven't been any parents involved yet.

My routine meal when I'm stressed out or angry or upset or just plain not feeling so hot is macaroni and cheese and red wine.
