Can't make the horse drink...

I've been trying to lead my horse to the water (all kinds of water: spring, flavored, etc) and yet, he's not drinking... okay enough with the metaphor. I need help.

Just one consideration. Just from my own experience . .. .
New careers mean starting at the bottom. That's hard cold cash. If he lives with you, it's huge to lose the income and feel even a little leachy. So you pick money over all else . . . short term thinking sometimes, I know . . .but investing a few years to rebound on an income when you can get it back tomorrow . . ..
Other than that . . .he is own his own. (-: You cant send him off to find a dream he doesn't have a clear awareness of himself.
I have a few thoughts.
You need to be ok with whatever he decides to do--it's HIS decision.
I have been on both sides of the aisle where I have been out of work and have been a friend to those who have been out of work.
Thank you all for your advice.
Isn't accepting that he feels that way about what he is capable of doing, despite being unhappy with it, part of accepting him as is?
