Happy Valentine's Day to us!

We need to celebrate all the reasons why it is cool to be single on Valentine's Day!

I have a few:

1) We can buy ourselves a gift and it can be something we actually want!

2) We don't have anyone disappointing us, because they bought us a lame gift or have the even lamer excuse of not wanting to do anything for Valentine's Day because 'it's so commercial'!

3) We can do what we want that night. I have a race on Saturday, so need to train tonight and make a huge pasta dinner. I don't feel any pressure to have to get dressed-up or please some man by not doing what I want to do, so we can do what he wants to do.

4) Men are time-eaters. Ever since I have been single I have been able to get back into my running, and feel strong enough to tell some guy that I have plans, and feel no pressure whatsoever to change them. They have to fit into my schedule - not me fitting into theirs. I have a guy I have yet to meet in person from eHarmony. He wants to meet for a coffee and I currently don't have time to do it. Between everything I have to do at home, the crazy amount of work I have, training 5 days a week, spending time with my friends and family, filing my taxes (now done), planning my Vegas trip (which is March 6-9), getting ready for a friend's visit from England, and parties to go to, I have no time for a BF unless he's hapy seeing me once a week. If he needs more from me than that currently - he needs to find someone else.

I used to put so much of what was important to me aside to spend time with my men, I would end up feeling very frustrated I wasn't getting my stuff done. Half the time it was sitting around watching TV - boring and an absolute waste of time! No more.

Here, here my friend! There's a lot of upswings of being single, esp on V-Day. I for one, for once in my life, can actually do what I want to do on this day. Since I'm off from work today and tomorrow, I'm doing a whole lot of nothing and I deserve it. All I do is work, work, work, and more work. And it's high time I finally take some time off from work so I can get some much needed R & R. I have been beyond tired, stressed, and burn out. And today, I'm taking it easy and if all I do is sit on my rear all day today, so be it, because I deserve it! Only thing I have planned today is a dental appointment I have at 1pm and that's it. I'm just taking it easy today and that doesn't bother me one bit. I don't have to get all dressed and glammed up for some guy. BTW, I have nothing against men lol.

Your schedule sounds a lot like mine. My schedule is so crazy it's unreal and I'm like you on this subject. I'd like to have a bf, but in all honesty, I don't have time for one, unless he is ok w/seeing me maybe once a week if that. And if he wants my attention 24/7,...sorry, no can do. I've had to put myself aside for so long that I'm not doing it anymore. I'm important, too and it's time I start taking care of me for once and doing something I like and what I want to do.

Now, Beach Honey, I admire very much your activities and accomplishments but are you sure you don't want to make time to find a mate?

One complaint I have heard three times this year from men, is that so many women do not have the time or want to make time to find someone!
