Breaking up in an e-mail

I read an article on google about e-mail romance and they quoted these statistics:
- 1 in 3 male respondents considered "break-up emails" neutral to good email etiquette, whereas only 1 in 7 female respondents agreed
- 8% of men and 6% of women said they had broken up with someone over email
I don't buy the latter stat...I know TOO many women who have been broken up with via e-mail (and vice versa) to be true....maybe we just date jerks, I'm not sure.

I wonder if the low percentage of men who admit having broken up with someone by email is due to how a break up is defined.
If someone emails me after, say,
Ya know, I don't think I've ever been broken up with by email.
I just had to post in response to this: "It's always the phone. It's like they know the email is not enough, but they can't fathom actually looking in my eyes to do it."
My last breakup was via phone also. And I told him to stop - I was coming over. If you're going to break up with me, you can do it properly.
I went over there and MADE him break up with me the RIGHT way. TO MY FACE. Yes, bitchy, I know. And proud of it. Man up, already, YOU WUSS.
You know what one ex said to me when he was doing it on the phone?
