I think I made it!

Hi Everyone,
Well last fri was the official moving day! Thank God he decided to work! Two of my bros and my best friend & her ds and my dd & ds and his friend got through the day. Wow - after 23+ years together one does tend to accumulate a whole lot of "stuff". My "helpers" kept giving me a hard time about everything I took, but they moved it just the same. You see I'm an artist and designer so I have a very hard time getting rid of anything that I might be able to "do" something with! LOL.
So now after a week of unpacking and settling in I think I'm starting to relax a little bit. It is all at once exciting and scary to be on your own - to have a mortgage payment and utility bills etc...
I had my girlfriend over last nite to help me with some financial aid stuff for dd 3rd year of college and it was so nice not to worry about him comming home and glaring at us or saying something negative about dd finishing college. I never felt more comfortable to have a friend over. I would always have to wait till he was gone for the weekend or I would just go over to her house. We watched an artsy movie and drank wine and throughly enjoyed the evening. Who da thunk it?
My new bed came the other day! It was heaven to sleep in a big girls bed after more than a year on the couch or dd twin bed when she wasn't home. I can't wait to start decorating! Still have a few more things to get, like a dresser and maybe a bathroom set but we're moving right along.
Ds is doing ok I think. His new digs are in the newly finished bedroom/rec room in the basement. We still need to paint the walls - but he seemed happier today after we got all his junk organized. He has yet to call or visit his father, though xh has called ds a couple of times; wants to know how the dog is!!!
I have a job interview tomorrow as my contract job is starting to wind up. My employer keeps saying she wants to keep me but I haven't gotten a permanent offer yet so I have to move ahead if need be. That's a little worrisome - just move into a new house and find out that your contract might not be picked up!!!!! Anyone need an interior designer? I'm working at a commercial firm now, but might have to go back to residential/sales if I can't find anything else. Michigan is still being hit real hard with the recession.
But with all that I'm starting to feel way more comfortable on my own without the dead weight. I really had to laugh about the "list". I think we can all relate to that.
Thank you all for all the support and lasting through this very long post - maybe I just needed to see it in writing - more convincing ya know.
Hugs,
e
