My attorney is filing on Monday (yippee!!), but I'm not moving out of stbx's apartment until June 11th. And although the atty is filing for temporary orders, we are still at the mercy of the courts' time schedule, so we aren't sure how long it will take for those temp orders to go into effect. In the meantime, there's daycare to pay for, as well as diapers, food, and all other expenses related to our 2 children (5 and 13 mos). Stbx is trying to manipulate me into agreeing to a ridiculously low child support and he doesn't even know that I've retained an attorney, so without the protection of a court order, I'm not going to get squat from him. I know he'll have to cover the arrears, but how do I live until then? I start my new job on Monday, but it'll be a few weeks before I get my first paycheck, and that will have to cover the expenses of moving into the apartment. I just don't know how I'm going to live. I think I'll be okay once those child support payments start coming in, but I'm at a loss until then, aren't I? Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Holly

Hi Holly..... Check your area for local support groups for women that might help provide temporary assistance, such as United Way or the YMCA (or they may be able to steer you in the right direction for a local place that can help).
As far as child support and your STBX trying to get you to agree to an amount.... well, I've got news for him.
