amount of time for a divorce to be final?

When the calendar rolls to 2006, I will have been waiting for my deliverance for 4 years.

Peace,

Di

I think 4 years is completely unacceptable. The only way I can see things dragging out is if you are fighting over property, children, etc. In my case, I just told him I wanted him to sign the papers and he could have everything, it still took just over a year for other reasons and that felt too long. I guess if I were you, you might want to reevaluate what it is that is taking so long, if you are having a hard time agreeing on a single material posession, then it might be worth cutting your losses and getting this over with. Certainly if it is something regarding children, you need to fight for what you feel is right, and at the same time, not rake the children over the coles. Only you know what's best in your situation, but I would think an agreement needs to be reached because it isn't fair to anyone involved to have it drag out this long.

It is a long protracted situation but what it boils down to is, the house, my 401k and his back child support.

Wow... 4 years is a long time, but I don't think a record.
