1st off, been away for a while - had to put my 16 yr old kitty down last Moday. Very tough thing to do. She has been with me thru college, nursing shcool, 8 moves, lost loves, 2 dogs, 1 cat, marriage, childbirth, losing my mom & now divorce.

Good greif, what is up with these idiots???!!! I know I'm about to lose my mind and I'm sure you're in the same boat. When will they ever grow up?? I talked to my STBX last Friday about seeing the boys. He sees them for 'maybe' 2-3 hours a week and that's it. They cry for him all of the time and beg to see him. So, he tells me that he'll try harder, but that he CANNOT sacrifice any work time for them, that work has to come first if he is to pay child support (which he barely does anyway). The following Monday I get a call as I'm pulling out of the parking lot at work. He said that he would see the boys for about a week and a half b/c he and his girlfriend were going to the beach for a week! He took a week of vacation time for her, but not his own children. Not to mention dropping about 2 grand on this trip while I'm struggling to feed my children. Why won't they just grow up and deal with their responsibilities???? Oh, and then I get a letter from the DMV saying that his truck (which is in my name) has no liability insurance and hasn't since June and now the plate has to be turned in or I get stuck with a massive fine and they can revoke my license. GREAT! Sorry, didn't mean to take over your thread there, I'm just having a VERY hard morning. I'm sick, I haven't slept b/c a storm woke the boys at 6am and I didn't get to sleep till around 3am. And my immature idiot ex is partying at the beach, throwing money around and SLEEPING IN!!! If his place wasn't such a nasty pig sty, I'd be tempted to pack the boys up next weekend and just drop them off with him b/c I NEED A BREAK! Ugh...men!!!!

Oh, did I mention that he cashed out all of our stock and only gave me $300 of it (it was around $5-$7K).

In NC you cannot file for divorce until you have been separated for one year and one day...it SUCKS!!!!

From what I've been told, if he liquidates ANY assets, retirment, savings, anything, he will have to produce documentation proving he gave me my half OR he will have to come up with it to pay me. It wasn't in both of our names, however, it was aquired after we got married and is a marital asset.......I need a

Did you have to file for separation to start the clock?

See, that's the weird thing, you must be separated for one year, but there is no 'legal' separation in NC. They basically just take you at your word that you've been separated for one year. I did have one consultation with a lawyer

They don't have legal separation in PA where I am either, but here the wait is not that long if you both agree to divorce.

I don't have a statement, however I was getting a carseat from his truck and saw the checkstub from E Trade, so I grabbed it.
