My ex husband has now quit his job, filed for unemployment, and is drawing disability through the military (claiming that he injured his back while serving). He primarily doing this so he isn't recalled in addition to not wanting to pay child support.
Anyway, my question is about the disability through the va/military. I've been reading on the internet that dependent children are supposed to receive benefits if a prior member of the service is receiving disability. So, how do I go about finding this out?
The only reason I'm asking is b/c we (my dd and I) are in dire need of some type of help. He hasn't paid c/s in so long and I'm basically strapped for every little thing. So, isn't only fair that he should have to help support our dd in one way or another?

I have no idea who you call to find out about benefits.
I am sorry for your situation...I can relate my ex voluntarily is unemployed and works the system to avoid support and I am supporting twins boys completley on my own. IT IS unfair yes but you cant get money from someone that has none unfortunatley your options are leins on property and trying to work with the governtment buts its a tough tough battle...
I am going thru a national agency called support kids and you could try them to help you out???
Best of luck...
